The Department of Commerce, Bureau and Census compared new Single Family home sales to modular and manufactured home shipments and reported that in 2005 modular housing accounted for 9.7% of new home sales.
The Institute of Building Technology and Safety (IBTS) reported a total of 116,443 manufactured homes shipped in 2005 to their new owners. What is surprising is that total shipments of manufactured homes are down almost 31% over 2002’s statistics of 168,491 shipped homes. |
