Modern prefabricated modular homes come of age |

 The challenge – how do you create a beautiful, functional and livable modular home that is asthetically pleasing, modern in design, and embraces all the economical, technological and environmental benefits modular housing has to offer?
Easy – you hold a contest! That’s exactly what Dwell magazine did to find a winning design.
The winning design was so successful that Resolution 4: Architecture has teamed up with Empyrean International and Dwell magazine to co-develop a modern custom-designed modular home. Don’t be fooled by the sleek, clean lines of these beautiful homes – they are also highly functional and livable. Embodying all of the benefits that prefabricated construction has to offer, these homes have adopted a high level of functionality, livability, sustainability and technology inside their designs. The initial concept for this modern prefab spawned out of Dwell Magazine’s Home Design Invitational competition between select groups of international architects. Resolution’s initial design entry was so well received that it attracted support and partnership from Empyrean and Dwell to develop a completely new line of prefabricated modern modular homes. Leveraging the benefits of existing prefabrication methods and modern livable designs, the team has developed 3 winning modular home plans that allow the potential for mass-customization by each end purchaser and still maintain a viable alternative to traditional building processes and all that it has to offer. |
